Popcorn?

This is what happens when I try to make a meal for someone else. Kids got markers and decided to draw all over themselves. And of course Cameron had to leave some popcorn for a snack a little later.

Toilets

What is it about a toilet that makes a baby want to be around it? When Cameron was younger he wanted to play in the toilet and would make a beeline for it if any bathroom door was left open. It has gotten better and now he just likes to flush the toilet and close the toilet lid.

Tonight I was getting the kids ready for bed giving the girls a bath and I was examining some lovely new growths on my face when I look over and I see Cameron drinking something. I immediately grab it out of his hand and realize he was drinking TOILET WATER! He found the lid to the toothpaste and decided to dip it in the toilet and show mom what a big boy he is and can drink from a cup. I am still so disgusted....at least the toilet was flushed.

Happy Birthday Tanner

Wow 7 years has flown by! I can't believe my boy is getting so big!

Seven things we love about Tanner:

1. Loves to shovel the snow....makes my life a lot easier since Jason always seems to be out of town when we get a big snow storm!

2. Loves sports soccer, basketball, golf, and now wanting to play football.

3. Loves his little brother, and his little brother adores him. I have caught him a couple of times asleep in the crib with Cameron they have a great relationship.

4. Is a great reader....has progressed much this year.

5. Is very competitive.

6. Very sensitive.

7. Very stubborn...got a double dose Headrick and Wilson genes.

We love Tanner so much I am so grateful he is our son and I feel lucky to be his mom!

We celebrated his birthday on Saturday the 12th since Jason was going to be gone on his real birthday. We went to Trafalga and it was fun to have cousins and grandma there with us. We playes some mean laser tag, and had fun on all the rides. (the pass of all passes was the best investment ever!) Then headed to our house for cake and ice cream. I think he really had a great time.

Then on Friday the 18th we opened presents from Mom and Dad. He was excited about his own Wii remote, legos and Kung-Zhu armor. He had a great week celebrating his birthday!

Happy Love Day

Happy Valentines Day!
Cameron loved his lunch, and I love his big smile!!

We had a great day filled with lots of love, good food and family. The kids had a great time at their school parties, and Cameron, Paige and I had fun at home. The girls were given roses and Cameron got some big legos, and Tanner a Kung Zhu.

We love and miss you dad!

A normal day at our house

Tanner's after school snack today. He fixed it himself, his snack looks more like a meal...but hey he's a growing boy!

This handsome little boy is into EVERYTHING! He is tall enough to pull open drawers, reach and grab stuff off the tables and counter tops. He really just creates lots of messes and creates havoc, (think cornstarch and kitchen=mess) but today he found a yummy treat on the counter. I think he was quite proud of himself. Life at our house is never dull, we had a busy fun day filled with wii, cleaning, laundry, homework, and of course we had a house showing. Yes unfortunately we found out a couple of weeks ago that our house was put for sale. We were not very happy as the thought of moving again is frustrating. Not only the moving part but having people traipse through the house and having to constantly keep it clean. The rental company has said that the contract that we have will still hold, but we'll see what happens in the next few months. I will try to stay optimistic as I try to keep the house presentable and enjoy the happy moments with these cute kiddos!

Crazy Eye

I have a special eye that we like to call "crazy". My sisters get a little grossed out and can't look. I think I thought it would maybe just magically go away, but it has gotten to the point where see double and unbeknowst to me I started tilting my head so that I didn't see double.

A few examples of my "crazy" eye.

I guess that I decided it was time to fix the problem when I saw my crazy eye in a few pictures. I finally went to a doctor right before Thanksgiving who said he could fix it by adjusting the muscles in both eyes to make my eyes aligned. He said my eyes would be really red and swollen for 7-10 days after surgery, and there is/was a 20-25% chance that a second surgery would be necessary.

After talking to Jason we decided that we should go ahead and schedule surgery for February. Excited and nervous as time got closer and closer, I went in for surgery on Wednesday February 2nd. I was in good hands and watched over by many people that I know in that work in the hospital. It's always good to see a friendly face when you go in for surgery. As I was waiting for my turn in the O.R. my Dad came to say hello. I love being able to see him in his workplace.

Surgery went well and Jason and I were sent home. I felt like I could barely open my eyes and kept them closed the whole ride home. My eyes were so heavy and I couldn't see all that well which made me feel dizzy. We got home and I went to my room and laid down, I kept a wet washcloth over my eyes which helped relieve the pressure/uncomfortableness I was feeling. Thanks to my mom the kids were occupied and she made us dinner. I wasn't counting on being so helpless. Yes I knew I was having surgery but I thought I would be able to function. I was very wrong....the next couple of days I needed help. Jason was able to take the kids to and from school, pick up prescriptions, and take care of me. I couldn't see to drive, and had a hard time cooking and cleaning and taking care of kids, let alone make sure I didn't hurt myself. Every day my sight got better and better, the double vision is less and less. I went for my week check up and everything looks great. We should know at my month check up if was a success or not...lets hope for the best! Kylie and Paige ask almost everyday if I am better and their whole reason for asking is because they want me to wear makeup. Yes I haven't worn makeup for almost 2 weeks and I feel a bit liberated. I don't feel that I have to wear makeup to make me beautiful...yes it helps but I should feel pretty even without it. Hopefully I can help my girls to understand that too!

I was going to take pictures of my eyes every day to track the progress but so far the only picture that was taken was the day after surgery.

Happy Birthday Dad

I love my Dad! It was fun to be able to celebrate his birthday with him this year. We got together and went to one of my dad's favorite restaurants...Chuck-a-rama. The kids had a blast choosing whatever they wanted and we got to spend some time visiting. I spent the majority of my time taking kids to the restroom, and getting more food, and trying to get Cameron to stop throwing food on the floor.

My dad is the greatest he is always there for me, I remember the time when he drove to Arizona and helped us clean our rental and move some things in our new house, and then drove back home in 3 days. He also was there for me for all my crazy antics, moving to California, USU, dropping everything and moving to Nauvoo for a semester. Always trusting me and supporting me without question, means the world to me. Love you dad and hope you had a very Happy Birthday!
