Sledding

How fun is it to sled in 65 degree weather?! That is what Tanner did on Saturday and was in absolute heaven (Kylie was home sick :-( and Paige was sleeping). Our HOA has done this for 2 years now and will bring in "snow" (more like ice) and the kids can go sledding. He had so much fun we will for sure have to do it again next year.

Gingerbread House

Today in preschool Tanner made his first gingerbread house. He had so much fun and I think did a pretty good job for his first time. I think his favorite part was eating the candy off!

And here is a picture of the kids letters to santa. I think that they want to add stuff daily but this is what they asked us to write for them.

I guess we'll have to see if they have been naughty or nice

Sometimes I wonder

why I even try to decorate? This child decided that she needed the pebbles off my picture for food in her bowl. So what would it hurt to pull them all off?
I can fix it easy enough but let's just hope she will find something else for her pretend food!

Good Man

I have been dreading washing my tile floor for sometime now....mainly because I do it the "Pioneer way" or the "stupid way" as Jason says. But I finally told myself it was going to be done tonight. I got the kids to bed finished vaccuming, and started washing. My husband asked me where another rag was and he helped me wash the floor. This was a first in our almost 7 years of marriage and it absolutely made my day! He does a lot of other good things but this made all the bad things of the day melt away and I can go to bed now happy and with a clean floor!

Finally the rest of Disneyland

Sorry for the long post....just trying to get it all down before I forget!

We got up Monday morning and were excited to get to Disneyland....we went in and waited in Main Street until it was 10:00 and off we went to the new Nemo ride. Kylie didn't like it very much, Tanner was down with all the cousins having fun, and Paige loved the bubbles. We had a fun filled day and went to Autopia, and then headed over to California Adventures and spent the rest of the day there. We went on Soarin' over California Tanner wasn't so sure about that ride, watched HSM3 show, and then went on the Grizzly Rapids, and then headed over to the Bugs Life, went to the show...watched the parade, and then went on the new Buzz Lightyear ride which we all loved it was super fun! We then left the park since it was closing and went and got dinner for our hungry crew and then it was off to bed.

Tuesday we had our early entry day, so we got to go to the park at 9:00, it was great we went in and went straight to the dumbo ride of course all the kids loved that one, and rode the carousel, and went on Pinocchio, and by that time it was 10:00 and we wanted to hit Splash Mountain. We were disappointed because it was closed for some problem. So we went on Pirates and there wasn't a line so we stayed on the same boat for a second time around. It was great....did I mention that this was one of the best times in Disneyland EVER?!? We got fast passes for Indiana Jones and went on the Jungle Cruise, and we hit the Matterhorn. We couldn't believe that there was no line, and Kylie was tall enough so I took her and Tanner was excited because he got to go too! He ended up loving it and Kylie didn't like it at all. We got off and got Jason to come with us and went again. We somehow managed to get Kylie to go again and she helped her dad not get scared and she did a lot better on the 2nd run. We got some cotton candy....I don't know what is wrong with my kids but they don't like cotton candy too much.....must be Jason's genes. We then decided to go and hit the rockets in Tomorrowland, and some went on Star Tours, and the rest went on the Toy Story Ride. Its hard when everyone can't go on the same ride so it was great to have so many people to help out. We then wanted to go on Space Mountain. Kylie was too short, and of course Paige was too little so I went with Tanner, I was excited because I love roller coasters. Tanner didn't like the ride too much and didn't want to go with Jason.....and Randa (my sister in law) didn't want to go again so I volunteered to go help out with the extra kids. So the second time I got to sit with Landrie. We had a great time sitting in the very front! While we riding the other kids went to see the Jedi show. It was nice to sit still for a minute and the kids loved watching the Jedi training.....now Tanner thinks he needs a light saber just what I need another weapon to attack his sisters with!

We back and went on Indiana Jones and Jason and I actually got to go by ourselves without any kids it was fun and reminded me of our first trip to Disneyland. Then it was off to watch the parade....while we were waiting we were getting the election updates. Little sad about the outcome but we will see what happens.

I think that the highlight of the day was the parade....we were sitting there waiting for it to start and the kids were a little bored and decided that they should go out in the street and start to dance. It was so cute they were all out there dancing their hearts out. Even my kids that got our can't dance genes were out there dancing loved it. And when the parade started they were in awe. Even Paige loved to sit and watch all the characters walk by. We left the park after that and went and got dinner at Coco's for the 2nd night. Kylie didn't even make it through dinner before she was asleep....it was a long day but lots of fun.

Wednesday we started out at Disneyland and went to Splash mountain first. Tanner absolutely loved it. I didn't get to go on the ride with him but went with my niece Serina and she was terrified. She didn't want to go at all and then sitting watching for a while she got up the courage and I went with her. I had to hold on tight the whole time....but she did great and was glad that she at least did it once. We went on the train ride around the park, toon town, and hit a couple rides again that we loved, tried benets and then headed over to California Adventures to go on California Screamin. I was so excited to ride this one....we switched off the guys went first and then Randa and I went on. It was just like I remembered I loved every minute of it.

We got to take the kids to have lunch with the Princesses and I will just say from the very beginning Tanner said he didn't want to go. He is the only boy cousin in our group....so everyone else was excited. Snow White was the first princess to visit us and she greeted all the girls and had pictures with them and Tanner just stayed at the table not even looking at her. She came over to talk to him and he wouldn't have anything to do with it. So she gave him a little kiss on the cheek....and the rest of the time Tanner was under the table. I was laughing so hard funny kid! Kylie had to ask all of the princesses to see their shoes, and loved every minute of the lunch.

We truley had a magical time at Disneyland, I was so grateful to be able to go with some of our extended family and to have a fun time with our kids.

For the whole experience check out our pictures here

What we do....

when we don't have satelite anymore. That means no tv for the Headrick household anymore, well the 2 stations that we get with rabbit ears (that won't work in a few months either!) I haven't laughed that hard for a long time....

although Jason wasn't laughing when he tried to get the gum off his neck.

Day 1

We left for California Saturday after T-ball and dance and on our way out we stopped at Sam's for our usual Saturday cheap family date. We grabbed some hot dogs and pizza and started our trek. The kids did really well in the car and made it it our hotel around 6:00. We got checked in and then headed downstairs to the movie and free pizza in the lobby. We waited for Jeff (Jason's brother) and family to come to eat the pizza we ordered. When they arrived we headed back up to our room and let the cousins get reaqanted. It had been 2 years since we had seen their family so it was fun to see how big everyone had gotten. The kids had fun jumping from bed to bed (I was going crazy don't like my kids doing that) but they had all been either in a car or airplane for the most part of the day and needed an energy release I guess. We ate and then they headed back to their hotel and we went to sleep.

The next morning we got up and ready to head to the beach. Not the best Sunday activity but we were trying to fit everything in. It was rainy and cold, and we got a little lost but eventually found a perfect beach. We parked and went right down to the water. Let's just say that my kids need a little more exposure so they won't be so scared. Tanner didn't want anything to do with the water, Paige hated the sand and the water, and Kylie was the bravest and got in the water with dad but decided that it was too cold. Tanner was content playing in the sand, and Kylie and Paige like sitting on the chair sucking on their suckers the best. We left the beach after a couple of hours and then headed over to the Jeff and Lorinne's hotel and went swimming. Let's just say the hot tub was really dirty when the kids finished, guess they didn't get the sand completly off before they went in. We had fun trying to get the kids to chicken fight and Jeff and Jason had a swimming contest of course Jason won! I swear when they get together they act like little kids. But it is fun and that is all that matters. I wanted to go see the Newport Beach temple so we went and got ready and headed over to see it. It was so pretty I loved the grounds so different from the Mesa Temple. It was a good way to end a Sunday!

Halloween pictures

I know I am really behind but thought I would post some pictures from Halloween before our Disneyland trip recap.

We had a great Halloween Tanner was able to dress up for preschool and had a Halloween party there, and then we made a spooky dinner that consisted of mummies (hot dogs and crescent rolls) and spaghetti squash. The kids thought it was so much fun.

Then we set off to trick or treat. Both Jason and I wanted to see the kids so we turned off our porch light and headed out. Kylie loved it she would march up to each house with so much confidence and push her way to the front and ask for candy. She was even thoughtful and asked for some for Paige. Tanner hung back a little and made sure everything was okay first and then waited patiently for his turn. Once again the kids decided that they were finished halfway down the block good thing for wagons...and I think Paige scored because she got the most candy. But was a quick bumble bee and we didn't get too many pictures of her.

They had a great night and lots of fun and once that Halloween was over next up Disneyland......

Harvest Festival

We had our ward's Harvest Festival on Saturday and the kids had a great time. They had lots of fun games like look for money in the straw (one of my kids favorites), fishing pond, bean bag toss, bounce house, a dunking station, and quite a few other activites.
Kylie and her friend Claire, they were so cute all night long holding hands and dancing.

This was Paige's favorite activity eating any candy in sight! The best picture of all 3 kids before they went trunk or treating.

We then had dinner of macaroni and cheese for the kids and then chili and cornbread for the adults. Jason was asked to be a taste tester to see which chili would win the prize for the night so I was left to get the kids their meal by myself and I think we managed. After dinner there was a costume parade and then it was on to trunk or treating. The kids loved that especially Kylie she isn't shy at all and would go and get her candy. Tanner was a little more timid and would wait his turn. But they had so much fun and now can't wait for real Halloween!
