Good Friends!!

Tuesday night my friends gave me a baby shower. It was so much fun! We ate yummy food, and sat and talked until 11:00. I feel so lucky to have such great friends. They were all so nice and we got some new clothes, really cute burp cloths, a cute diaper bag, and diapers!! Seeing how we most likely will have 3 in diapers I am so grateful for them. I am trying to stay hopeful that Tanner will start to be more interested in this potty training thing, but so far it's not looking too good. We've even tried bribing him with money, it is working better than just stickers.

So this is a little out of order, but Monday my sister Amy had her baby. She was 7'12 and 20 1/2 inches long. Mom and baby are doing well, they named her Linzee different way of spelling it, but it's cute. I will say that I am jealous that Amy isn't pregnant anymore. It is getting harder and more uncomfortable each day, but on the bright side I did go to the doctor on Monday and I am dilated to 1/2 a centimeter! I know not that much but for me being a little dialated at 36 weeks is amazing! I just hope that the baby stays around 8 lbs. Tanner was 8'2 and Kylie was 7'7 so hopefully this little girl won't be any bigger than Tanner was! We are still working on the name, hopefully we'll decide on one that we both like soon!

Wednesday we went to the movies and watched Open Season. It's really funny because Kylie starts crying the minute we walk into the theatre. This week was a little more interesting because I couldn't just give plop in her binkie, since we took that away from her this week. But she actually enjoyed the movie, it was just uncomfortable because she insisted on sitting on my lap, and there isn't much room for her to sit. We went to McDonalds afterwards with Cherice and Brooke and let the kids play on the playground. And of course after naps we went swimming! I had Young Woman activity and we had a good time getting to know 2 of the girls doing spotlight night.

I actually went to the dentist today! It is the first time in almost 3 years. I just have put it off because I didn't want to choose a dentist from a list. We went and I wasn't able to have the X-rays but got my teeth cleaned. The kids both took naps today so I was able to lay down and rest for a while too! I didn't sleep too well last night so it was much needed. Then we went swimming of course. We met our friends at the pool, and stayed for about an hour or so. After dinner we went out in the yard to help Jason with some yardwork and ended up in a water fight! It was fun, although I never did get the hose away from him and he would argue that it wasn't even a fight. Kylie was hilarious though she didn't want to be sprayed. She was yelling at her dad to stop. It was pretty funny!

Lizards, Scorpions, Snakes, and Mice

We had a pretty interesting weekend. First of all we were able to go on 2 dates!! Considering that we used to not go out without the kids this was a major accomplishment! Friday night we went to the Phoenix Furniture Auction hoping to find some great deals on furniture. We have some friends that have bought some nice things from the auction and we were hoping that we would get lucky too! Unfortunately they didn't have anything that we were very interested in. But we went to Outback and had a nice dinner, and then went and got a gift for a friend that just had a baby. It was great to come home and have the kids in bed, and the house nice and straight!

Saturday morning we decided that we needed to clean up the garage since Jason and the kids spotted a mouse running through it. Since then we have found lots of evidence that some little mouse has made our garage a home. (This isn't the first time!) Jason went out and opened the garage and heard something moving around. We have some glue traps by the garage door to help catch anything that wanders in. He went to check it out and there was a snake stuck in the glue trap! He had gotten his head stuck and couldn't get out. He was very excited, he has been disappointed for a while because he hadn't seen a snake yet! He yelled for me to come take a look, and went over to show the neighbors. Needless to say I wasn't very happy that we had a snake that close to our garage! I think Jason called me a scaredy cat because I didn't want to get close to it. The kids got a kick out of it though, they thought it was pretty cool.

It's a good thing we have those traps, we've caught a lizard, a snake, caught one mouse and killed a few scorpions (now we just have to take care of the 2nd one). That is Jason and the kids other favorite thing, hunting scorpions. After it gets dark they take a black light and search the yard, if there are scorpions it will glow and then Jason kills it. This past week we have found 3! The fun things we do I guess.

Saturday night we went out with some friends and listened to the Saturday session of Stake Conference. Afterwards about 10 couples went to dinner. We went to Abuelo's we hadn't been there before. Jason and I just split the fajitas they were really good. I'm sure we'll go to that restaurant again! We had a lot of fun, we'll have to do it again soon!

Grandparents

We had a fun time visiting with my grandparents in Utah. It was fun to see Tanner and Kylie interact with them. We went to the Startup's house and took dinner to them one night. Kylie wasn't able to go because she had a cold. But Tanner went and was excited to play with the toys there. Grandpa showed him how to use it and that was it he loved it!

Grandma and Grandpa Wilson came over to my parents and spent some time with us. Kylie loved playing with grandma she was playing with stackable cups and with her baby. She also entertained them dancing to Little Mermaid and singing. Her dancing consists of running around the island in the kitchen and spinning in circles. She is a character!

Then on Friday Andrea and her kids, Amy and Emma, and of course we went to Hogle Zoo. We didn't make it up there until about noon. It was very crowded! We had a picnic lunch first then headed in. Tanner was so excited, he loved seeing all the animals. We saw the giraffes and tiger first, I was surprised because he even wanted to see the snakes. Kylie enjoyed it too, she loved seeing the elephants. I just forgot how hard it was to push a double stroller up all the hills. Luckily Taylor helped me and pushed the stroller up the last hill.

We left Provo on Saturday and drove to Page, AZ for the night. We didn't want to make the drive back in one day. (We are getting spoiled!) Lori had spent the week in Lake Powell and on Sunday morning we were able to meet up and see her for a half an hour. I was happy it worked out because we probably won't get to see her until after the baby is born, and hopefully in Tucson in August when USU volleyball plays in a tournament at U of A.

Utah

So I decided that I would try this blog thing. I guess it's the easiest way to keep in touch with everyone and to let you all know what we have been up to.

We took a little vacation to Utah which started off just coming for a week, but have ended up staying for almost 3! The trip here wasn't too bad because we split it up. We left Saturday the 19th and stopped over in Page Az for the night. Right before we got to Page, Kylie decided to get car sick. That was our first experience with throw up in the car! So it probably was good that we stopped in Page so we could get her all cleaned up! The rest of the car ride was pretty uneventful. We stopped in Nephi to get some lunch and Andrea and Steve (who were coming from St George from a volleyball tournament surprised us in the parking lot of Wendy's) Tanner was so excited to see his cousins! We had a family dinner that night for celebration of Lori's upcoming graduation so the whole family came over. It was great to see grandparents and all my sisters!

We've had a lot of fun while we've been here. We've done lots of shopping, stuff for my house, new clothes for Kylie (early b-day presents from grandma) Jason got some new work clothes, and I got a new swimsuit! Tanner has had so much fun playing with his cousins. Every morning he wakes up and asks when are his cousins coming over?! I was able to go to Lori's high school graduation. I can't believe that she is graduated! She will attend USU this fall and will be playing volleyball there. USU plays in a tournament in August in Tucson so maybe we can see here there!

Kylie got her first haircut. She did pretty good she didn't want to have the cape around her neck so we ended up just taking it off. She got hair all over but she didn't seem to mind. Here are a few pictures of her. She is getting to be a cheeseball when ever there is a camera around.
