The life of a mother.....

I don't know what it is but I feel like my kids have been sick non stop since Christmas...when I say sick they have a runny nose, cough etc. We did have a round of the throw ups but luckily that was just with 1 child! I had to clarify myself because Jason and I have different definitions of sick. We have just had fevers, pink eye and yes Kylie and Paige had their first ear infections. I think that's pretty good a 2 1/2 year old and her first ear infection. The pink eye was the worst though and I was really sad Saturday afternoon when Paige's eye started getting all mattery. But it is a good thing we have medicines that take care of it all! Now we will cross our fingers that no one else gets sick so we can go see our new nephew in Utah. (Hopefully he will decide that it's his time to make his grand entrance!) We will be making another stop in Provo for a week, Jason has another trip to Rock Springs so we decided to tag along this time. Don't know why we are leaving this fabulous weather to head back to the cold of Utah again...but we will survive for just a week.

Hopefully we will be bringing back my youngest sister for a visit. She is going to Utah State and has spring break and wanted to come and see us...I would love it since none of my sisters have been down to see us since we've moved in to our new house.

Lori and Kim
And I just got a call from Kim and she said that Trent just got a job in Dallas TX. I'm so happy for them although I wish they were moving here (Trent was supposed to interview here in Scottsdale, but guess he got a better deal!) I'm happy for them and hope it goes well. I won't be the only black sheep! (the only daughter that lives outside of Utah)

Happy Valentines Day!

The day started off a little rough...Tanner woke up with a yucky eye so off to the doctor we went. It seems like something always happens when I have something fun for me to do! Oh well I still got to say goodbye to a friend that is moving to the east side. It was fun although I would have liked to stay and visit longer! Then it was off to Target for the prescription, and then home to clean up our messy house. It was no fun and I wasn't in the best mood....until my sweet husband brought home 2 dozen roses. He always gets me flowers for Valentines Day but not usually roses so that was a great surprise I love them!! The kids got the movie the Aristocats and Jason got some new clothes and he gets to get a bike. I would have gotten him one, but figured he would have fun picking out his own so we went looking at the new Sport Chalet by our house it was fun but instead of a bike we ended up getting Tanner's birthday present. I haven't seen Jason have so much fun in a long time! He was like a kid in a candy store he was so excited about the bike and Tanner's birthday present.

We finally went and got dinner at a new pizza place. It was pretty good the kids were starving and therefore not acting the best but we made it through! Paige was so cute she was laughing so hard a Jason. She did it for about 10 minutes she is turning out to be a pretty big daddy's girl!

Dentist

Last week Tanner told me he wanted to go to the dentist. So I got both he and Kylie appointments. Yesterday morning bright and early we made a trip to the dentist office. I took them to a pediatric dentist and the office was amazing! The kids felt so safe and fun there right when we got in they were off to play video games. Tanner did so well he had xrays and then got his teeth cleaned. It was great I was so proud of him, Kylie......well she will be a work in progress. She cried and fought it the whole time, and the only thing the dentist did was count her teeth. Oh well hopefully next time it will be better!

Yesterday afternoon we were playing in Tanner's room and I looked outside and it started hailing. It was cool we had thunder, lightning and hail. I was just glad I didn't get caught in it! The kids loved watching it out the front window and had to have the window open!

This past week...

Well we have done okay...now just one more week to go. Jason left for Wyoming early Monday morning and got there without any trouble this time. (Last week he left and they flew around for 4 hours trying to land in Salt Lake but couldn't due to the weather and then flew back to Phoenix only to get back on a plane and head back to Salt Lake...sounds like fun!) I think I was in denial all day Monday and didn't really want to think I would be alone for 2 weeks with 3 sick kids. Plus I had a nasty cold that always makes life interesting. The kids really started not doing so hot on Wednesday when of course I had YW's and I was in charge of the treats. I ended up going late and was just going to drop of the apples and dip, but had to sit in the room because the boys were stealing all the apples!! That made me so mad that they were eating them without any permission. Who do they think they are?!? Well the kids had fun running around (thanks ibuprofren), and I had fun visiting with the girls and the leaders! Thursday we didn't do too much, we went outside and Tanner wanted to play basketball, and then we went out front and rode bicycles. We just needed some fresh air and needed to get out of the house. Friday morning there was a "sprinkle" for one of my friends that is having a baby. I was so looking forward to going but Tanner woke up coughing and saying his tummy hurt. Which I thought was maybe his lungs. I was really worried due to the fact he was hoarse and his cough was pretty tight. So needless to say we didn't go, sad I needed the socialization. I felt bad Jason called and I brokedown. Gratefully it was only for about 5 minutes then I was okay. So I thought we would do something fun and we went and picked up a pizza and then had a picnic on the living room floor. The kids loved it, Tanner said that was so cool mom. That made my day! I got the kids to bed and then layed on the floor to watch Lost, but fell asleep. Guess all my late nights are catching up to me!

Saturday I figured I would get up and excercise so it would be 3 times this week, but ended up talking to my mom for an hour and then decided that it would be better to watch the funeral of President Hinckley.
I have all the love, honor and respect for him. What a great man he was a great example and great leader I will truly miss him but know he is extremely happy that he can be with his wife again.

After the funeral I made a fort for Tanner and Kylie and they watched a movie while I got ready for the day. We took a walk and Tanner rode his bike while I pulled Kylie and Paige in the wagon. Kylie will stay in the wagon 1/2 of the time and then gets out and wants me to hold her. Well I can't hold her and so she starts crying and ends up crying the rest of the way home. I 'm sure it's a sight me walking really fast ( have to keep up with Tanner) pulling a wagon, holding hands with a screaming child. No wonder I get so many comments like you have your hands full!
