Memorial Day Weekend

We survived last week with Jason being gone. The kids have such a tough time towards the end...every night they ask if Dad will be home when they wake up! So I was really relieved when Jason came home at midnight on Thursday. Tanner woke up and ran straight into our room (oh wait he was already there!!) and was so happy that dad was there...and Paige woke up and I took her in our room and she had to make sure that it really was dad laying there. And Kylie was so happy to see her daddy...he only had to work part of the day so we enjoyed being with him. Although I had planned a shopping outing in the afternoon we were heading up to the outlets to catch some sales. And of course it was raining cats and dogs. I don't mind the rain especially in May but we were heading to an outdoor mall. Oh well it was cool and stopped raining once we got there!

It was a very successful trip, I got the girls some cute clothes at the Gymboree outlet and Tanner was very pleased with his new swim trunks and shirt from GAP. It was fun to be with friends and shopping. We zoomed home and we wanted to have some more Daddy time.

Saturday we all slept in and then we did some grocery shopping and we are trying to find some hardware for our kitchen cabinets. We've been to Home Depot and Lowe's now and haven't been successful. So now I need to try to find some elsewhere that don't cost me an arm and a leg!! We got home and we got ready to go out!! Yay so much fun. I went and picked up our sitter and as soon as Paige saw her she started sobbing she knew we were going to leave. It was breaking my heart so I just had to leave. (I called about 10 minutes later and she was fine playing on the floor!) We met friends at the Pribyls and set off for a surprise for Erin's 30th birthday. We went to Alto a nice restaurant in a Hyatt resort in Scottsdale. It was so much fun we enjoyed our company and had a great dinner. Afterwards we got to go on a gondola ride. It was fun and we even had a song. I didn't expect it to be so loud I started laughing but then had to keep it quiet I felt bad I don't know why I was laughing. Oh well!

Sunday was a normal day...chaotic since we got to church about 20 minutes early and still didn't get a soft seat!! But the kids did pretty good during Sacrament still a little crazy since we weren't boxed in a pew Kylie decided that she wanted to dance...always fun to sit behind the Headrick Family!! After church I did some Visiting Teaching and then our friends came over for a visit. So much fun!!

Monday we did some more shopping for a BBQ. Safeway was having a great deal buy 2 12 packs of soda, get 2 free plus a 24 pack of bottled water. We don't drink a lot of soda but decided it would be a good thing to have just in case! Then we headed to Home Depot and got some flowers for our pots we bought. It was fun planting flowers again. I always used to help my mom and dad with the annual planting every summer. Jason doesn't believe me but I really did like to do it!! We went swimming and then came home for a BBQ. Chelsea and Jordan and Maddi (the dog) came over and we had a good time. We ate, and played with the kids and visited. It was a great day!

Just some random pictures of the kids! We were outside enjoying the unusually nice weather.

Paige is now 10 months old, she has been crawling for about 3 weeks now, and is getting quicker everyday!

Kylie is our little princess that has to wear a dress everyday so that she can dance....hmmm maybe I should get her into a dance class?!?

Last T-ball, and new stuff

Saturday was Tanner's last T-Ball game. They got to play at the Peoria Sports Complex where the Mariners and Rangers play their spring training games. It was hot standing there in the sun but I think we all had a great time. Tanner loved playing T-ball on the Hot Wheels team and learned so much from his great coaches! They were so patient with him and he got so much better (no more tackling...or running to the other side of the field to get the ball!) he actually would stay in his position. We had so much fun watching him play.

After the game we headed over to Sam's and took the plunge and bought our first grill!! We are so excited. We debated whether or not we would build a built in and finally decided against that so we found a grill we liked and bought it! So much fun we can now cook outside and not heat up the whole house!!!

My Grandparents

Just wanted to say that I am proud of my grandparents. They were voted to the citizens of the year in Provo. They are the sweetest and most kind people and are the best examples to me. Wish I could have been there when they received their reward! You can read the full article here.

Volleyball

Our stake (at church) has set up a women's volleyball. It is so much fun playing. I think that the 2 reasons why is #1 to get out of the house, and #2 to have fun! I am not the world's best volleyball player but I have lots of fun. The games aren't like normal high school/college matches we play for 20 minutes or until whoever scores 25 first and we play 4 games a night.

I am finding a couple of problems with this recent activity. My mind still see's me as being a lot younger than I really am and when I find myself diving on the floor after a ball it takes me a lot longer to get back to my feet. I am also finding that the floor is a lot harder than it used to be. I am really sad that my body just doesn't move as fast as it used to anymore. And when I wake up the next morning I have a hard time getting out of bed, especially when I have bruises all over my knees. Jason tries to remind me that I don't have to dive on the floor but it just wouldn't be the same. I'll take the bruised knees any day for the opportunity to play a little ball!

Weekend

Father and sons campout was this weekend (I sent the camera with Jason but he didn't take any pictures!) so I wanted to have a fun weekend with my girls. Tanner woke up super early and was ready to leave at 6:00 am. We finally got them off and we started the day by playing with friends and then taking naps. Kylie fell asleep on the couch watching her new favorite movie "pauper". The Princess and the Pauper staring Barbie. I should say all the kids love it, even Tanner who sings along and changes the words of the song to say boy where is says girl. And Paige fell asleep the same time Kylie did...can I say heaven. I sat and did nothing I should have been more productive but I was enjoying the quiet. I had to wake Kylie up so that she would go to bed later on, and we went and got some ice cream at the new Baskin Robbins. She loved it! Paige had croup the week before and had been recovering all week...but at Baskin Robbins I noticed she felt a little warm. So we got home and I gave her some motrin, and went to pick up the babysitter...well it didn't go over too well and I was gone for a total of 45 min and had to come home. Poor thing she wasn't doing to well, so Kylie and I had a movie night, Paige fell asleep and I did on the floor but Kylie was awake until 11:30!! No more naps for her!

Tanner and Jason had such a great time on the campout. Tanner loves being with his dad, but we were excited to have them home. We ran some errands and had a great day. Saturday night wasn't so good....Paige had done well all day but turned downhill at night we were up for about 3 hours early Sunday morning with a uncomfortable miserable baby. I ended up walking up and down the hallways and after some motrin and tylenol she finally settled down at about 5:30. I was able to get about an hour and a half nap before she was up again. Jason fixed me breakfast of cinnamon rolls, eggs, orange juice and sausage. It is one of my favorites!!

Then off to church he went...the kids didn't go the week before so I stayed home with them so he could go to Sacrament. Then later on he helped me make dinner and dessert it was so yummy! He made my day very nice even though we did have sick kids! And he gave me a coupon for a broadway show when we get to NY for our cruise! Yay so excited for that.

Dinner ?

So I was trying to be a good wife/mother and have dinner all ready before we went to T-ball practice. Practice is at 5:00 so by the time it's over we are all starving. I had made shepherds pie, and even set a jello and as I was getting ready to put the casserole in the oven, (and trying to do it one handed because I was holding Paige), I had to take the cover off and all of the sudden it slipped of the counter and on to the floor it went. All I could do was stare at it, the kids came running which of course I had to tell them to stay back no need for anyone else to get cut. Called for Jason...he finally came and took a look, I tried not to cry (who likes to spend time making dinner and have it fall on the floor?). He thankfully took the kids to practice so I could clean up the mess. I got it all cleaned up and then walked to the park for a little t-ball practice and then off to Chipotle for dinner. Jason said I did it on purpose to go out to eat....hmmm nice idea maybe I'll do it on purpose next time!?
Dinner doesn't look too appetizing in the garbage but we all love it!!
