Paige turns 1

Today my baby is 1. (I started this post forever ago, and am now just getting around to finishing it!) She has been a complete joy in our home, she loves her daddy and loves to see her brother and sister every morning when she wakes up. She has just starting taking steps and I hope that she isn't walking totally by the time I get back from Girls Camp. She shakes her head no a lot to let us know when she isn't happy about what we are doing. She says mama and dada, and baby and doggy, and bye, and hi, and loves to play peek a boo, and she even says peekboo. And I am sure that I am missing a lot but she tries to copy a lot of the words that we say. She loves to clap and play so big
She absolutely loves babies and will give them hugs and pat their backs. She falls asleep with her pink monkey that Grandma Wilson gave her. We have two and sometimes she will sleep with both of them it is really cute!

Happy Birthday Paige!!

Tanner vs Cactus

Guess who won? We went for a bike ride and we were on a dirt trail that goes along the golf course. Tanner went down a hill and slid and fell right between a cactus and a thorny bush. Poor kid but I guess it could have been worse, he managed to get one spine in his thumb and a few on the pockets of his shorts, and a few more on his flip flops. Both Jason and I tried to pull the spine or thorn out but it was in good, so Jason ended up pulling it out with his teeth.

After Jason got Tanner all taken care of (I was helping just taking care of the other 2 crying from heat and non movement!) But we had to get the cactus out of the bike wheel and while Jason was doing that he got a joint stuck in his arm. He pulled it out and his arm was all red and swelled. But luckily we made it home without any more incidents. I was so proud of Tanner he did so good and was such a tough kid! He got back on his bike and rode the rest of the way home flat tire and all.

I think we all learned our lesson about cactus.....stay far away!

Samana

Our last stop was Samana Dominican Republic before we headed back to the good ol USA. I really thought that the island was gorgeous...of course I had talked Jason out of taking the big camera whoops big mistake. Our older camera didn't do it justice!!

It started out a little comical due to the fact that the ship anchored instead of docking. So we had to take tenders to the shore. All of the shore excursions met in one location and it turned out to be complete chaos!! I was sure glad when we were called to leave. We boarded our little boat and took an hour cruise to reach a National Reserve. It was amazing we saw so many birds and it was just really pretty. We then went and docked the boat at a cave and half our group went and learned about the cave and our half went kayaking in the Mangroves. Yes we already kayaked but this experience was far better than the 1st time. It was amazing paddling through the channels. There was a thick canopy of trees above us, and we found that there were little crabs running up and down the mangrove branches that were in the water. Jason tried to get me to catch one, and I finally caught 2 after he said he would give me a $100 extra spending money. He really didn't think I would do it. Ha I showed him didn't I!! I loved that Jason was able to speak spanish too, it was fun to hear him conversing with our tour guides, although I do think I was being made fun of a little, and they did like to tease me. The guides also said that we might be able to see parrots we saw some nests but not any birds....bummer.

We paddled back to the boat and then went and walked around a cave. We tried to listen to the history lesson, but ended up just exploring a bit, we did listen a little me more than Jason did. After the caves we were taken to the beach, where we only got to spend about a 1/2 hour at but enjoyed the water. Our beach time was pretty limited as we had to catch the tender back to the boat so we could leave and head back for NY. Wish we would have had about another 1/2 hour or so just to relax...the time here was so short! Oh well we had a great day and great time! What I especially loved was no one smoked on our whole excursion it was so nice to not have to smell cigarette smoke.

The next few days we spent watching movies, watching people gamble playing blackjack, and of course eating. We worked out and we counted the hours till we could be back with our kids. We saw some fun shows and enjoyed a chocolate party one night. It was amazing what they did with the chocolate and it was very very good.

We got back to NY and it was overcast and humid. We got off the ship and started walking back to the downtown area, and we found a Starbucks. Jason's work had given him a giftcard so we got some orange juice and muffins and used the internet. It was perfect timing due to the fact it started raining as soon as we sat down. We were able to talk to the kids and I got caught up on everything that went on while we were gone.

We walked around a bit more and I wanted to get the kids some cute clothes from H&M so we walked to the store and I found the girls cute matching dresses. So fun....although I don't think Jason though so....oh well. We got some pizza for lunch and then headed to catch our bus to take us to the airport. Our flight was delayed about 3 different times and we got to play a lot of games and eat, and walk around for many hours. We were sure glad to get on the plane and get back to Utah. Well as happy as can be for a 5 hour plane ride in seats that don't recline!!! We were so tired and didn't get into Utah until after 2:00 am. We finally made it back to Provo and were in bed not a minute too soon!
Andrea was going to bring the kids over before swim lessons so we got to bed about 3:30 am and the kids were coming at 8:00, I was so excited to see them that I woke up at 7:30 and couldn't go back to sleep.
Yes Jason does have hair! I didn't get any other pictures as proof so this will have to do!

We were so excited to see each other....well Paige wasn't so sure about me but was excited to see her daddy! The other kids were thrilled that we were back and I'm sure my sister was so relieved too.

Tortola

We arrived in Tortola early in the morning and we had such a short amount of time there that we got up so we could enjoy the island. We figured we had 2 days at sea to make up for lost sleep! We got off the boat and I really wanted to take a tour of the island, so we gave in to one of the locals and got on his bus for an island tour and then he was going to take us to the beach. We had to be back at the boat by noon to go on our snorkel trip. He was trying to get as many people as necessary but it was taking so long that he kept losing people. We had 2 fun couples sitting in front us and Jason kept them laughing the whole time. The island was gorgeous, the drive was fun but a little scary as we were going up steep roads and many times blind curves. They sure use horns different than we do here. We stopped and saw many beautiful views, and we got a history of the island. After we were done we headed back to the beach where we got in the water it was so nice and warm, and I love the color of the water in the Caribbean.

We headed back and we stopped at a rum distillery. It smelled so nasty but it was one of the oldest on the island and it sure looked it too! We got back to the boat and joined our group as we went on the snorkel trip to the Caves at Norman Island. It was supposed to be one of the best snorkel spots, plus there is supposed to be treasure that was never picked up by pirates there. Unfortunately we didn't find any. It was fun snorkeling, I was so worried about sharks and jelly fish (not a good idea to watch shark week, or any nature channel before you go on a trip!) though and I have a hard time not gagging from the breathing tube, but we saw some pretty colorful fish and lots of sea urchins, and we missed the sea turtle. Jason loves to dive down and he saw some better life down about 15 feet or so. I'm not as adventurous as he is I just stayed on top and looked down. He is a hard one to keep up with...but it was lots of fun. By the time our boat got back we needed to head back to the ship. Tortola was one of our favorite stops!

Kids

Last night we had Family Home Evening about Temples and related it to our body and how we need to keep it sacred. We talked about modesty and some of the things we shouldn't do. Well today I took the kids to the pool, and just as we were about to leave I saw Tanner from the corner of my eye and it looked like he was relieving himself. So I turn around and sure enough he had his swim trunks pulled down and there he was going in the pool!

Looks like our FHE went over really well!!!

Two Kids

One Box

Equals hours of fun!!

New York cont. Puerto Rico

We did a few more touristy things as we had time before we had to be at our ship and went and looked where the World Trade Center used to be...

Seinfeld fans will understand

We left our hotel and walked to the port where the Norweigan Spirit awaited us. The walk was a little longer than I expected or maybe it was just the muggy heat that got to me! We went through the check in process and it was pretty painless. We headed to the ship and took a quick tour. That is when the rain started, it pretty much ruined the sail away party! Oh well we still got to see the Statue of Liberty as we sailed out to sea.

The next 2 days we were at sea and we really didn't do much. I found that is wasn't warm enough to lay by the pool, (I think I am ruined for life as I am spoiled for Arizona heat!) I think the temp was around 80 the first couple of days so not bad. And we don't have any pictures....I think we mainly would sleep, eat, sleep some more, and I think we actually worked out. We caught up on some movies, and I did some reading. Thanks friends for letting me borrow your books!! We ventured to the top deck put there was so much smoke that we headed back to our cabin....although that wasn't much better we had smokers on both sides so other than us smelling like smoke all the time not too bad. I loved having a balcony though it was nice to be able to have a view just from our room.

Our first stop was in Puerto Rico. It was impressive on the way in. We did some walking around the old town, and was amazed at how hot and humid it was. I loved the architecture and the brick streets. We had enough of the walking and headed back to our ship before our excursion. We met at the terminal and met another couple from Arizona from Maricopa. It was fun talking with them, and met a couple of other really nice people from Pennsylvania. We had a longer than expected bus ride to our bay that we were doing kayaking from. It ended up being 2 hours and 45 minutes. It really was kind of a bummer. Plus it was raining, I didn't mind the rain though just didn't want to have lightning strike while on the bay. We finally got to the bay and we waited another hour for our turns on the kayaks. Jason was getting really impatient and angry with the whole ordeal. Not really what we signed up for. It was our turn and we got into the kayak and headed to the bay. It was dark and kind of spooky all the mangrove trees seemed eerie, but we (I should say Jason) and we finally made it to the Bioluminescene Bay. We were under the impression that we would be able to see things glowing....but we were wrong it was put your hand in the water and there was a faint glow for about 30 seconds and that was it. We got a little lesson on why it glowed and then we hurried back to the bus so that we could make it back on board before our ship departed. We were wet and the air conditioner was so cold! By the time we got back I was a ice cube. We made it back right at 11:30 ran to our room jumped in the shower since we were freezing and then got dinner! Sorry we didn't take any pictures it was dark and raining.

Happy 4th of July!

Our 4th of July was a little unorthdox this year....(as far as the Wilson traditions go!) but we did have a great time.

We woke up at the crack of dawn to go to our ward 4th of July breakfast. (Yes it was still hot!!) That is why you get snow cones right after breakfast!!! It was great pancakes, hash browns, fruit and the best part was I didn't have to cook or clean up!! The old fire truck was there we took a few rides....tried to stay cool. It was so hot I couldn't believe it and was grateful for the mist of water that hit when the truck sprayed the kids from the fire hose. 500 gallons of water gone in a minute it was pretty sad. The kids didn't mind too much because they then played in the sprinklers. We got to visit with friends and have water fights. Luckily I got to stay out of those!! We had a great time.

We headed home and cooled down for a bit then packed up and went to the pool! It was fun, Tanner went down the water slides forever, and me and the girls played in the water. Paige loves to sit on the steps and climb up and down then give us a smile and dive off. She is taking after Kylie in that department!! We met some friends there and had a blast. 2 hours later we headed home for some naps. It was much needed the kids played hard and believe it or not Jason even fell asleep....what a miracle!!

We then headed for a fun night or wii and burritos. I know burritos on the 4th not the usual 4th food, but it was good and we had a great time. The wind picked up so we weren't able to let the kids have fun with sparklers but I don't think that they cared. They had a great day!!
