Our valentines this year was lots of fun, candy, cookies and cousins. We missed our dad, he had to travel that week we wished that he could have been here with us.
We started the day with cinnamon rolls, and eggs, and the kids headed off to their school parties. Tanner had strep for the second time in a manner of weeks and was just able to make it for his class party. We then had our cousins over and had a grand time decorating sugar cookies, playing wii, and letting the kids run wild outside. I enjoyed the conversation with other adults and then met my mom and headed out to dinner. The kids were wasted by the time we got home but I think that their day turned out great.
My favorite part of the day was reading our "love" notes that we wrote to each other. I saw the idea on a blog last year and just loved the idea. Each of us picked a name and then wrote the reasons we loved that person. The kids loved it and it was amazing to read what they wrote. Kylie had me in tears (she had my name) and each of the notes were so heart felt and sweet. It was a fun tradition that I intend to keep every year!
