Spring Sports

We have had a busy Spring.  Between Jason traveling and the kids sport/dance/gymnastics, I have stayed really busy.  For some strange reason most things usually were on Wednesday nights.  Paige has ballet, and Kylie has gymnastics, Tanner has scouts, with an occasional soccer practice or baseball game or school program.  It sure made for some interesting nights, but I am very grateful for the neighbors and friends that have been willing to help me out! 

Kylie did great on her soccer team scoring at least 1+ goal per game.  Has loved doing gymnastics and was bumped up a level this year.  But wants to take a break this summer, which is fine moms like breaks here and there from being a taxi  driver. 

Paige has been doing ballet, and is doing well especially being the youngest in her class.  We look forward to her performance of Swan Lake in a week. 

Tanner has stayed busy with playing soccer, and finishing up the year with his soccer team making it to the finals.  They played so hard and were ahead but ended up going to overtime and losing.  I am so proud of him and the way he has improved. It was a bummer to not win, but hope he can remember how well he played, and can be proud of his accomplishments. 

He has loved also playing baseball.  I love that he is so confident and sometimes wish I could have some of it for me!  I love watching him play and he has yet to come home in a jersey not covered in dirt.  He loves to get dirty and slide, and fall down.  I love his competiveness, and we have only had to talk to him a few times about it.  He loves sports...and we love watching him. 

Baseball season comes to an end....

Tanner had such a fun baseball season this year.  We loved watching him and I will miss washing his uniform after every game.  (He likes to slide into almost every base)  I was amazed that he still had a white jersey at the end of the season.

He was lucky enough to be chosen to play on the all star team.  He was pretty excited and it was a great opportunity for him.  There were two teams and he was on the second team.  They didn't play in the state tournament, but he was excited for the opportunity.  

6 months

My baby is now 6 months old and getting so fun.  She loves to scream, and roll all over.  She will roll anywhere to find something that makes crinkle noises (paper, toys, etc.).  She is sitting up and loves her brothers and sisters.  She started eating solids and doesn't like rice cereal, and is still deciding on oatmeal.  She loves her bottle, and still sleeps through the night like a champ, naptime is still unpredictable and usually short.  Its sure makes it hard to get anything done :)   She squeals and loves making any kind of noise.  When someone says hi to her she will smile and then be shy and try to hide in whomever is holding her.  Maybe another shy girl?!

She is getting really good at watching her brother and sisters at all their extra curricular activities.  And really is just a good baby that is growing up WAY too fast.  We love her to pieces!

Our spring break

....was full of doctor visits, uncertainty, stress, and medicine. It sure didn't turn out like I had imagined at all. We had a great Easter and then wham on Monday Cameron came down with strep. We got him on his medicine and thought we would be great. Then Wednesday Tanner came in from outside saying he was itching and I saw this....

Which led to this.....

He didn't want to move, he was hurting everywhere.  He was itching like crazy and just miserable.  I noticed on Thursday that he was swollen, his hands ankles, face, and had a fever.  We took him back to the doctors and they ordered some blood work and an EKG for possible rheumatic fever. Very sad when you can't do anything to help him feel better felt so helpless.  The pediatrician put him on a Z pack.  We went and picked that up Friday morning and started him on that.  By mid afternoon I noticed that his lips were swelling, and he was growing horns on his head.  Upon further examination he had bumps all over the back of his head, and his ear was huge and swollen.  So we made another trip to the doctors office.  Jason came with me and this time the doctor felt like it was a severe reaction to the antibiotic that we were treating him for strep.  So we made appts for the cardiologist and the pediatric infectious disease specialist.  We were also told to give him a steroid.  Amazing what it did, by Saturday morning we seriously had a different boy.  One that was a little to crazy.  It was really good to see him moving normally and not grimacing when he moved. 

Hopefully we can find some answers and we can get our healthy, happy, crazy kid back! 

1st Grade Patriotic Program

Kylie was able to be in the first graders patriotic program.  She learned all the songs, and she memorized her part and looked so beautiful up there performing.  Her smile is contagious and I loved watching her.  Jason happened to be out of town, so my mom saved the day and came to help me. 

Kylie's part was about the flag and what the stars and stripes represent.  And she also was able to hold John Quincy Adams picture up and say his name.  Loved the program they did a fantastic job.

Snow!

After a few days in the 70's we woke up to this.  Cameron and Paige had a great time playing in it, and managed to get me outside to play too.  We made a fun little snowman just enjoyed the snow for the first time this year.  Chloe stayed inside nice and warm.  We all enjoyed a nice cup of hot chocolate when we got dryed off.  It was a fun way to start the morning.

Kylie's spotlight week

Kylie was super excited to be the spotlight for the week.  She had her poster done a week in advance, and had lots of fun picking out her pictures.  Dad helped her get donuts for her treat.  It's always fun to see her in her class surrounded by her classmates.  We love our Kylie Jo!
