Sore

Like the thousands of other Americans one of my many New Years resolutions is to get into shape...and I'm finally starting to excercise (one of my other goals is not procrastinate...not doing so well with that one!). I know it is already the end of January but a late start is better than no start at all. Jason and I have a cruise planned (without kids) for the middle of June so I have about 4 1/2 months to reach my goal and hopefully stop being so sore!

In a tight spot....

I was in the study when I hear Tanner yelling mom help me. I didn't think much of it because they (Tanner and Kylie) have been playing "rescue" lately. Well I walk out to the family room and there is Tanner stuck behind the couch. I don't even know how he got in there it is such a tight space. I tried to pull him out and this is the result .....
So I ended up having to move the couch and he was able to get out. I found out he was trying to rescue a necklace! Crazy kids....Paige is almost six months and is getting really good at picking things up and putting them in her mouth. She started some solids and loves carrots, peas and bananas. She doesn't like the rice cereal too much but we will work on it.

And here is our Kylie such a sassy girl as it says on her shirt. She had a couple of meltdowns and wanted daddy today....all the kids have such a hard time when dad is away. Luckily he gets to come home this weekend then we'll see how we do with him being gone for 2 weeks.

Safeway

Well I got to say I have a love hate relationship with Safeway. We now have a grocery store less than 2 minutes from our house where before we would have to drive 15 minutes one way to go grocery shopping. I love it having a store so close but maybe a little too much. It is so nice to be able to go and get something and be home within 10 minutes but now I keep forgetting little things and end up going to the grocery store to get what I forgot plus a few items. We (Jason and I) decided that we can only go 1 time a week.

The "grand opening" was last weekend and they were giving away 200 ipod shuffles. So we decided to go see if we could win one. We got in different lines and I was so sad I didn't win, but then I heard them say congratulations and yes Jason won! His face actually turned red when they told him we were pretty excited!

Tanner

Tanner got a haircut today and looks so handsome he would correct me and say he looks cool not handsome. I can't believe how old he is looking....and how dark his hair has gotten. I love this boy!!

Rest of Christmas

So I am finally getting around to posting about the rest of our Christmas. We woke up to this...

and I loved it's been so long since I woke up to a White Christmas. We had a great day with lots of presents and food. Tanner got a bike and a crashing race track, some new cars and clothes. Kylie got princess shoes, 2 dolls and a stroller, playpen, and high chair, and of course clothes. Paige also got some clothes and a new toy. Jason got some new clothes and a travel bag, and he gave me a smugmug site where I can store and display our pictures! It was really fun because Tanner was so into the whole day. He absolutely loved it, and of course it made Kylie excited too. They love the Christmas music and are still singing Jingle Bells, and I think in Sacrament meeting today Kylie was singing O Christmas Tree. Grandma and Grandpa Startup came and spent the day with us, I think they enjoyed being around all the kids as they opened their gifts. I'm so glad that they were there to share the day with us.

We opened our santa gifts, and then everyone came over for breakfast. Mom had made cinnamon rolls, and we had sausage and lots of eggs, and juice. Then we went down and opened the gifts from the family. Mom spoiled us again this year, I got all sorts of new pans for the kitchen, and she made each one of us girls a new quilt. I can't believe how much work she did for us. After we had opened all the gifts it was time to get dressed and get ready for dinner.

The rest of the week we didn't do a whole bunch due to the fact that everyone got sick. We did some shopping, some more playing in the snow, oh and we did go bowling. That was a lot of fun. Kim and Trent, and Lori went with us and the kids had a blast! Tanner did really well for his first time. I'm glad that we were able to do that.

We decided last minute to leave on Sunday the 30th instead of waiting until after the new year, so Saturday night I went and spent some time with both sets of grandparents. I enjoyed it so much just having the chance to sit and talk with them. I love them both so much!!

Christmas Eve

Paige and Grandpa Startup

Our family has a tradition of Chinese food on Christmas Eve. It all started with my mom's side of the family. My grandparents owns a candy business called Startups Candy and so they were always really busy up to Christmas. So when it came time for dinner on Christmas Eve they tried to find some where to eat and the only place that was open was Chinese, so that was their dinner. Now our family goes to eat Chinese every Christmas Eve I think we look forward to it all year long. Here is a few pictures of our lunch.
