Paige Ann

Baby Paige is finally here! She was born Monday at 5:28 pm and was 8 lbs 14 ounces and is 20 1/2 inches long. She was a lot bigger than I expected, but I am sure glad that she is here and healthy.

The day was a long one, we were supposed to call the hospital at 3:00 am to make sure that there was still room for me to be induced, and when I called they were full. I was pretty bummed and couldn't fall back asleep. We were supposed to wait for the hospital to call when they had room for me so I got up and got ready for the day. Jason was impatient and called the hospital to see what was going on and they were having a shift change, and said they would get back to us. Well about 15 minutes later they called and said come in. So Jason and I got ready and got to the hospital at about 8:00, and got up to the room at 9:00 or so. They got my antibiotics started about 9:30 and then I got an epidural since I was at a 4 and started the pitocin. Then we just waited and waited! I was so hungry and bored. I tried reading my Harry Potter book, but got to uncomfortable being on my back, and not really having a place but my stomach to set the book. I couldn't sleep too excited so I ended up watching TV. Jason was trying to work from the hospital, but didn't have Internet connection so he was really bored too. He took a break and went and got some lunch I was jealous it smelled so good. At 1:30 they started the second round of drugs, and told us that they would be in shortly to break my water, two hours later they finally broke my water, unfortunately I was still at a 4. I was praying for a short labor once my water broke. I told Jason that we were going to have a baby before 6:00 and I was pleasantly surprised when an hour later I was ready to have little Paige (we didn't know that was going to be her name until Wednesday morning)!

I was disapointed that my mom and the kids couldn't come and see her Monday night. Kylie had already fallen asleep and it was late so they had to wait until Tuesday. It was great to see them, they loved the baby Tanner wanted to hold her, and Kylie was full of energy and just wanted to run around. But I think that she loves her she just had to decide that it she was okay. Around noon they went home and I was ready for some quiet time! It's hard to have 2 kids in such a small space. Jason came back later that evening so we could decide on a name for the baby. We finally decided on Paige before we fell asleep. He left it up to me to decide on the middle name. So Wednesday morning I filled out the paperwork for the birth certificate and it was final..........Paige Ann Headrick.

We got to go home on Wednesday morning, it was a lot smoother than when Kylie was born. I didn't expect to be home before noon, but we were discharged by 10:00. The whole hospital experience was 100 times better than our previous. I was quite pleased, and ready to go home and see if I can handle 3 kids!

Stay Puff Marshmellow Woman

That is now my new nickname, Jason found it for me due to the fact that my hands and feet are so swollen. My hands actually hurt to bend them, and as for my feet I guess it's not too bad I can still wear my flip flops. We are still waiting for the arrival of our new daughter, evidentally she has decided that she isn't ready to leave the confines of her tight quarters yet. I am ready though it will be nice to have a not so round belly anymore. Both Tanner and Kylie don't like the fact that they can't sit on my lap. But there isn't much more I can do about it.

We are still trying to figure out what to name this new one. We have a few ideas but haven't settled in on one yet. Last night we stayed up and made a list, and we have found a few more. We will just have to see which one fits her the best.

My mom is coming tomorrow, that will be a relief so that we won't have to worry about leaving the kids with anyone else if she decided to make her arrival before our scheduled induction. I decided that I would rather be induced so that I can make the most out of my mom's visit. So if I haven't had her before Monday morning at 4:00 am, then I will be going to be induced.

Today we are just going to have a pretty relaxing day, we already went to Walmart to get the new Harry Potter book. I will admit that I am a big fan. I reread the last two books to prepare myself for this last one. I am excited because I will have something to read while in the hospital. Jason has been teasing me by trying to read aloud the last chapter. Then laughing at me while I chased him around the kitchen island. We went to Sam's and got some fruit, and then the kids got a hotdog (including Jason) and I got a piece of greasy pizza. I think that we will go swimming in a bit, and just do nothing the rest of the day. I might go and get a pedicure but we'll see how lazy I am!

Colorful

The last few weeks have been pretty uneventful. The fourth of July was hot! We started the day at the bishop's house and had a pancake breakfast, and the kids rode on a fire truck. Tanner loved it! He now calls the shirt he wore that day his firetruck shirt. Kylie wasn't quite so sure about the whole thing but did enjoy honking the horn. We went to our community activity after that but lasted maybe 15-20 minutes due to the fact it was so hot! We went and got our swimsuits on and went swimming. It was really nice even though the pool was pretty crowded.

I think we were all nice and tired by then even though it was only noon, so we all took naps and then went over and looked at some of the model houses. Found a couple that we would like to have, maybe someday! And then for our bbq we decided to go to Red Robin and get hamburgers there! It was nice no clean up for me!

I was trying to get some organizing done, and let the kids play with some markers this past week and when I went to check on them I found Tanner covered in black marker. I told him next time that they are only allowed to draw on paper. I guess that they are still too little to draw with markers!

We are also just patiently waiting for the new baby to come some more than others. I should be used to it now but every time we are close to the baby coming Jason always is asking when is the baby coming? When is the baby coming? You should know, but of course I don't and it drives me crazy. How am I supposed to tell when they decide to come! We still have a week until the due date so I don't expect to have her anytime before then. We will just finish getting ready. Plus we are still working on the name we have quite a few ideas but haven't settled on one yet.
Jason is just finishing up the painting! Yeah all of the main part of the house is now done, except for touchups of course. It looks great he has done a great job. He wouldn't let me help him at all, but I'm sure I will get to help do all the touch up projects after the baby is born.

Birthdays

Today is Kylie's 2nd birthday! She is totally into Mermaid so I did a Disney Princess themed birthday. We just celebrated with the family, but she had fun. For church she wore the new dress and shoes that Grandma Wilson gave her. It was a lot of fun because she let me paint her fingernails and toenails, and then we round brushed her hair. It's fun that she likes girly stuff now! Then we went to church and afterwards we fixed her favorite dinner, spaghetti. She definitely is a pasta girl.

After dinner, we let her open her presents. For most of her presents she insisted that Tanner help her open them. I don't think that it bothered him too much, it was fun to see them work together.

I attempted to make a cake with Ariel on it. Let's just say I need to take a cake decorating class because it didn't quite turn out like I had envisioned it. But the kids at least got that it was a mermaid, and Kylie loved it. While she was playing with her new toys Jason and I fell asleep on the couch. We had left the cake on the table, and Kylie just decided that she could help herself to it. We were able to get to it before she had done too much damage (although it wouldn't have ruined the look at all!) She blew out her candles and enjoyed the frosting she isn't much of a cake eater I guess. Next year she will probably just be happy with a bowl of frosting.

I can't believe that she is two!
